WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced an enhancement to their online processing time tool, myProgress, making it more convenient for applicants to track the status of their applications.
On Wednesday, the federal agency revealed that myProgress will now include Form I-765 (“Application for Employment Authorization”) and Form I-131 (“Application for Travel Document”). With the myProgress tool, applicants can receive personalized estimates regarding the duration of major milestones in their case, including the final decision, as stated by USCIS in a press release. However, it is important to note that these estimates are based on historical data and similar case specifics.
They do not guarantee speed and may not account for all unique processing delays, potentially resulting in overestimations or underestimations of the actual processing time, the agency cautioned. Currently, myProgress is already accessible for Form I-130 (“Petition for Alien Relative”), N-400 (naturalization application), and Form I-90 (“Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card”).
To ascertain the waiting time for your application, it is necessary to either create a USCIS online account or log into an existing one. If you have submitted your application online or associated a paper application with your online account, you will find a tab showing the estimated duration until a decision is reached in your case. Furthermore, you will be able to track the progress of various milestones through checkmarks, including confirmation of USCIS receiving your application.
